تعبيرات شائعة الإستخدام فى اللغة الإنجليزية Common Expressions in English
هذه التعبيرات هى
عبارة عن 15 تعبير شائع الإستخدام فى المحادثات اليومية الإنجليزية ورغم قلتها إلا
أنها تستخدم بكثرة فى المحادثات اليومية ، إن شئت فقل أنها Viral Hashtags أو هاشتاجات مشهورة ولكن بين
متحدثى اللغة.
We use these expressions
in everyday conversations
(1) - "Not
fussed"
"Not bothered"
أى حاجة ، كله حلو
"I'm not fussed"
That mean that
everything is equal to you; you don’t prefer something upon else. Or "I
have no preferences", "I'm happy with any suggestion"
(2) - "Fair enough"
ولا يهمك، عذرك مقبول
That's acceptable or
that's reasonable
Person 1: I can't come
to your birthday, I have to work
Person 2: That's fair
enough ((you have to work, I understand))
(3) - "I suppose so"
وأنا شايف كده برضه
You say "I supposed
so" when you agree of someone's ideas
Person: Can we get ice
cream!?
Yeah! I suppose so!
(4) - "I am afraid…"
يؤسفنى أقولك
It used to refuse
something or to give bad news.
Person 1: Can we go to
my party?
Person 2: I am afraid, I
can't. Or, I am afraid, not.
(5) - "May as well"
"Might as well"
We say "might as
well" if you see something is equal to else; when your friend supposed to
you to go to a party, you see that is a rubbish party, and you suppose to stay
at home, you can say: I might as well have stayed at home.
We can say that also in
that form:
Person 1: shall we go
home?
Person 2: yeah, might as
well.
We say "might as
well" when there is nothing better to do.
(6) - "Twenty-four
seven"
It means every minute of
every day during every day of the week
If something happens twenty-four
seven, it happens all the time, every day
You can access our
website twenty-four seven (that every minute of every day)
(7) - "Get the ball
rolling"
To start something, or
"let's start now"
(8) - "Take it easy"
I'm going to take it
easy means "I am going to relax"
(9) - "Sleep on it"
It means think about my
decision and give back to you
(10) - "7 o'clock
sharp"
The meeting is at seven
o'clock sharp
Sharp mean exactly
(11) - "Like the
back of my hand"
It means very common or
very familiar
If you say "I know
that city like the back of my hand" it means that it is very common or
very familiar to you.
(12) - "Give me a
hand"
إيدك معايا
It means "to help
me"
(13) - "In ages"
It means "for a
long time"
I haven't seen him in
ages, means for a long time
(14) - "Sick and
tired"
Means "I don't
like, I hate it"
I am sick and tired of
doing homework
(15) - "I'm broke"
I have no money
